This kind of group offers women a chance to learn about themselves and ways of relating to others in a safe and supportive environment. Through the group experience, women have the opportunity to create a balance between being autonomous and being connected to others.
All of these groups are psychoeducational in that they contain certain content themes to provide structure for the sessions, they encourage sharing and feedback among the members, they are designed to increase self-awareness, and they are aimed at facilitating positive change in the members’ daily lives.
